Going live with UKG Pro WFM is a significant milestone. But it’s important not to treat it as the end of the journey.
UKG Pro WFM is a SaaS solution, which means the platform continues to evolve. New functionality becomes available, releases introduce new capabilities, and the way the system can support an organization changes over time. If no one is actively keeping track of those developments, it’s easy to miss opportunities to get more from the platform.
Your business doesn’t stand still either
UKG isn’t the only thing changing.
Your business is changing too. Workforce requirements evolve. Operating models change. Labor laws and workforce policies develop. For multinational organizations, those changes can be happening across several countries and markets at once.
What worked well at go-live may not necessarily be what the organization needs six or twelve months later. That’s why the platform needs to continue adapting as the business evolves.
Take stock after go-live
Six to twelve months after go-live is a good opportunity to step back and ask some important questions: Are we getting the value we expected? Do we have the right ownership model? Are we getting everything we need from Pro WFM? And is our current support model still right for us?
It’s also worth looking more broadly at the platform. Do you have the right functionality and modules? What types of support requests are coming in? Does the internal team have enough capacity? Who owns decisions about changes and priorities? And are there opportunities to optimize the way the platform is being used?
These conversations help move the focus away from simply keeping the system operational and toward ensuring it continues to deliver value.
Look ahead, not just at what needs fixing
Continuous improvement is also about looking forward. Rather than waiting for a problem to appear, organizations need to consider what is changing in their business, country, market, and industry — and how the platform may need to evolve in response.
That could mean responding to changing workforce policies, reviewing existing configurations, or taking advantage of functionality that wasn’t available when the original implementation decisions were made.
Creating capacity for continuous improvement
This is where Application Managed Services can add value.
Even strong internal teams have finite capacity, particularly when they are managing complex environments across multiple countries. Having access to additional capacity and specialist workforce management expertise gives organizations greater flexibility when more complex requirements or changes arise.
The goal isn’t simply to keep UKG Pro WFM running. It’s to continually ask what could work better, what has changed, and what comes next.
Because going live is only the beginning.
The real opportunity is to keep getting more from your UKG platform.
