When Xavi Segarra joined Simms & Associates in September 2022, the company was entering an exciting period of growth. With around 30 employees, the foundations for the future were already being laid, and Xavi joined at the beginning of that journey.

His decision to join wasn’t driven by a job advert, but by the people he already knew.

Having met Amanda, Jesús and Marta years earlier, he had heard first-hand information about what it was going to be like to work at Simms.

Finding connection in a remote world

Having always worked on-site, moving into a fully remote role was a leap into the unknown.

“Am I going to feel alone?” was one of his biggest concerns.

Instead, he found himself surrounded by people eager to help. Colleagues arranged calls simply to introduce themselves, making the onboarding process feel personal and welcoming.

“People were so helpful and friendly,” he says. “The onboarding was very easy.”

Nearly four years later, he believes that the company’s culture hasn’t changed. Team chats extend beyond work, colleagues stay connected across countries, and people continue making time for one another.

Working remotely also taught him an unexpected lesson: how to create healthy routines. Regular breaks, moving around the house and staying socially connected have all helped him thrive in a remote environment.

Growing professionally

Although Xavi joined with experience in Workforce Central integrations, Pro WFM integrations were completely new to him.

After extensive training, he progressed from a junior consultant to Senior Integration Consultant in just a few years.

“My opinion is important in the project,” he says, demonstrating how his experience and expertise are recognised within the company.

A culture built on togetherness

Ask Xavi what best defines Simms & Associates, and his answer is simple:

“Friendship and Togetherness.”

For him, teamwork means colleagues stepping in when someone needs support and ensuring nobody is left behind.

“We always try to be a team,” he says.

One of Xavi’s favourite memories was attending his first Global Connect. After months of collaborating remotely, finally meeting his colleagues face to face strengthened the connections he had already built online.

“It was incredible to meet everyone.”

Growing without losing the culture

As Simms has grown, Xavi believes its culture has remained remarkably consistent.

What began as Amanda’s vision is now reflected in the company’s Culture Code and, more importantly, in the way people work every day.

“It’s not just something that should be there—it’s there.”

Looking ahead

For Xavi, feeling valued has been the biggest reason to stay.
“The feeling of belonging, that you are an important part of this company. That’s the best.”

Looking ahead, he has complete confidence in the future of the business.

“I can only foresee good things happening to this company,” he says. “I’m very proud of being part of it.”

As Simms celebrates its tenth birthday, Xavi’s story is a reminder that sustainable growth isn’t only about expanding a business—it’s about creating a place where people continue to learn, contribute and succeed together.
