Global CFO

Simms & Associates (S&A) is a dynamic WFM consulting firm with a global footprint, working with multi-national clients. Headquartered in Spain, S&A has a presence throughout Europe and N. America. We are looking for a Global CFO who will be a true business partner to the CEO and work closely with the Executive team.


About the role

The CFO will be a true business partner to the CEO, working closely with the Executive team. Accountable for the financial compliance and well-being of the company, including the ongoing development of financial and operational strategies and corresponding metrics. The CFO will also develop, and monitor control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. In addition to leading the Finance function for S&A, the CFO will also manage the company’s global accounting team.

Key Responsibilities


  • Financial Strategy: Lead development and direction of financial business planning/strategy. Support the Executive team with the commercial and strategic development of the business, driving performance by providing top-level analysis and comprehensive data.
  • Investment Strategy: Evaluate business development opportunities through partnerships and investments.


  • Financial Processes & Systems: Drive development and implementation of enhanced financial processes and systems.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Capital Management: Lead the capital planning process, working with key stakeholders to ensure accurate discounted cash flow, capital roll-ups, and presentations to executive management. Manage the company’s capital structure, treasury, and cash management. Evaluate investment opportunities and make recommendations to optimise the company’s financial resources.


  • Team Leadership: Build and mentor a small, high-performing team.
  • Communication: Ensure high-quality communication and collaboration with the executive team.


  • Relevant CFO equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in the Spanish financial sector is a requisite, coupled with a strong working knowledge of US and Canadian accounting.
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible finance experience. Preference for experience within companies providing services.
  • Demonstrated talent in inspiring, mentoring, and fostering teamwork through open communication and collaboration.
  • Past success effectively influencing across all levels, managing expectations, and ensuring credibility and alignment.
  • Works well in a highly dynamic/evolving environment.
  • Record of success balancing short & long-term business performance, exceptional teamwork, and an unflinching focus on revenue & profit growth.
  • Evidence of making a significant contribution to strategy development and the overall direction of an organisation beyond the finance arena.
  • Prior success building and gaining alignment to a suite of reporting metrics and dashboards that drive ROI and inform performance.
    Record of accomplishment in assessing operational efficiency and complexity and making recommendations that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Highly business-minded and operational; quick to understand the key success factors for the company.
  • A strong leader with excellent executive presence/gravitas; enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Outstanding analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
